Nature and Natural History
You will be picked up at 0600hrs at the hotel for your early morning transfer to the airport for Sandakan flight on MH2042 ETD0730hrs / ETA0810hrs.  Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, proceed for an experience - a close encounter with the "Wildman of Borneo" and tamed Orang Utan are being rehabilitated into the wild. Witness the Orang Utan feeding handled by  the rangers. Continue to Sandakan for your lunch with a brief city tour of Sandakan; Puh Jih Syh Buddhist Chinese Temple at 300 meters above sea level, offers a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay.  Then, return to airport for returning flight to Kota Kinabalu on MH2709 ETD1415hrs / ETA1500hrs.  On your arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, you will be picked up and return transfer to your hotel.  (Lunch Included)

Depart at 1400hrs for Klias Proboscis Wildlife River Cruise.  Pass by picturesque countryside for two hours.  At Klias Village, board a river boat and observe the unique lifestyle of the elusive proboscis monkeys, macaques, buffaloes, iguanas & more along the lush riverine vegetation. After seeing the brilliant fireflies on trees along the river bank at dusk, return to the village for a Malay buffet dinner.  Return to Kota Kinabalu. (Dinner Included)

EAC02    KLIAS Proboscis Wildlife River Cruise
               (7 Hours)
Depart at 0730hrs early morning for a 3 hr drive to Poring Hot Spring (126 km from Kota Kinabalu). En route, make a stop at Nabalu village to savour local fruits and to bargain prices for the handicrafts.  At Poring Hot Springs, part of the World Heritage Site , explore the many jungle trails and observe wildlife on the Canopy Walkway, 100 feet above the forest floor.  Take a dip in one of the soothing, steaming hot mineral springs set in beautifully landscaped gardens. If you are lucky, you might have the chance to see the largest flower in the world  ' Rafflesia' nearby in the area. After lunch, proceed to Kinabalu Park (39km from Poring) for a brief stop with a visit to the mountain garden which has an amazing collection of flora , some of which are endemic to Borneo. (open from 3pm till 4pm).

EAC03    Full Day Poring Hot Spring & Kinabalu Park
               Botanical (10 Hours)
Depart at 0900hrs and take a drive to the scenic countryside. Arrive at the jetty and proceed by boat up river, on the way you will try out the unique way to set out the crab trap. After setting out the trap, proceed to the Mengkabong Village zigzagging across the mangrove forests. The village's thatched roof houses are built on stilts over the water and are connected by narrow, wooden planks. The scenic village rising out of the river, is a remarkable sight to behold. Set amidst mangrove forests, this Bajau village gives visitors a very good insight into the lifestyle of a fishing village. Also enjoy the art of batik painting at Mengkabong Village. Return to Hotel.

Admire the sounds and sights of the Borneo Pygmy Elephant, Orang Utans, Gibbons, Rhinoceros and Otters and more. Meet at the hotel lobby at 0900hrs for your trip to the nearby countryside,   passing by rice fields and megaliths.   You will see the typical village of the "Kadazan",   Sabah's largest ethnic group.   At the Monsopiad Cultural Village,  you will have the opportunity to meet with the descendant of the famous "Monsopiad",  who was known as the greatest headhunter warrior in the early century.  His collection of skulls are hanged in a house specially built for this.  It is story telling of the Borneo Headhunter.

Meet at the hotel lobby at 0900hrs or at 1400hrs for City Excursion.  Proceed to Signal Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the Tunku Abdul Rahman islands off the South China Sea.  On the way, pass by the historic Atkinson Clock Tower.  Excellent photographic opportunity stops will be made at Yayasan Sabah (Sabah Foundation Building), the Phu Thou Se Chinese Buddhist Temple, the new magnificent Moorish Likas Bandaraya Mosque and the spectacular State Mosque with its gold motif domes.  Visit the State Museum.  On the Museum grounds, the ethnic heritage village presents a collection of authentically designed houses and longhouses of various tribes with descriptions of their lifestyle.

See the Rungus artisans at work - weaving native cloth, baskets or beadwork, making gongs and harvesting honey.  Return to Kota Kinabalu.
